Make your own In-n-Out burger at home. We'll show you how!
Ingredients (for 2 burgers)
2 Martin's Sandwich Potato Rolls
450 grams of ground beef
Tomato, thickly sliced
Iceberg lettuce
4 slices of American cheese
1 onion, diced
1 tablespoon cooking oil
80 ml mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sweet relish
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 teaspoon sugar
2 teaspoons white wine vinegar
A splash of Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper, to taste
Dijon mustard, to taste
Let's go!
Step 1
Dice the onion. Sauté it in a medium skillet with oil over medium-high heat. Deglaze the pan with a small amount of water as it evaporates. Repeat this process for about 20 minutes, until the onions are caramelized. Set the caramelized onions aside.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sweet relish, ketchup, sugar, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth. Set aside.
Step 3
Divide the ground beef into 113-gram balls. Place them between parchment paper and pound until the patties are very thin and slightly larger than the buns. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Step 4
Place 2 patties in a heated cast-iron skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes until darkly caramelized. Brush the uncooked side of the patties with mustard before flipping. Flip the patties and cook for another 1-2 minutes. Place cheese on each slice and let it melt. Repeat with the remaining patties.
Step 5
Spread softened butter on the Martin's Sandwich Potato Rolls. Toast over medium-high heat until golden brown and crispy.
Step 6
Slice tomatoes and cut iceberg lettuce into appropriate sizes.
Step 7
Spread the prepared sauce on the bottom of a Martin's Sandwich Potato Roll. Top with tomatoes, lettuce, the first patty, caramelized onions, the second patty, and the top bun.
Step 8
Enjoy!
